Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States on the third Monday of January each year. Originally called “Law Day”, it was an American federal holiday to honor U.S. civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was assassinated on April 4th 1968.
